HERMES PACKET BOAT ~
This is a fun Interceptor. The Packet Boat was used mainly as a courier and as an interceptor, she posesses great downwind and running capability but lacks some armor. The Hermes has a good array of 8 Lb guns. Outfitted right she can out turn and and out run about anything larger, and in the hands of a privateer she can get unbelievable reload rates from her deck guns. For this reason I beleive she can be a force to be reckoned with in the PVP zones in the hands of several Privateers. The Hermes becomes available at level 16. Take note, due to her thin skin captains should stock plenty of the best repairs and use here agility to the advantage. There is Also a Mastercraft version available at level 24 and a special privateer turn in version called the Expedition available at level 19. In any case, this is a fun boat to level up in and some even keep til level 50. The boat is available to all classes but best fits the Privateer.
THE LOCUST CORVETTE ~
A Decent Combat Ship holding to older lines from the 15-16th centuries. She is a nimble craft sporting a decent array of guns on her broadside and even some stern chasers she has a little bit of disadvantage sailing to windward but is an excellent combat vessel to carry you from level 15 to say level 25. There is also a mastercaft verson that is level 26 which has augmented guns and better sailing capabilities. Like the packet boat the armor is rather thin but in groups these boats can be a threat and is a suitable ship for captains of any career class keep it around once you make like mid 20's level and you have a boat that can use decent repairs (Standard) to try your hand at some PVP outfitted with heavy flank armor, runners rigs, and some nice gun mods you might be able to earn a few marks against simaler level captiains or lower level ones that you might be able to run down in the PVP red zones and if you get sunk the ship still has a decent number of durability and is inexpensive to build.
